How is Checking Email Worse Than Smoking Pot?

By Patrick Mahan

Do you check emails obsessively during work?

Research shows these constant interruptions are killing your productivity!

In fact... these interruptions affect your IQ
worse than smoking pot!

The study revealed that "the IQ of those who tried to juggle messages and work fell by 10 points -- the equivalent to missing a whole night's sleep and more than double the 4-point fall seen after smoking marijuana."

Multi-tasking may seem like the only way to survive in today's economy, but to what extent is it affecting your overall productivity?

Keep in mind the parable of the lumberjacks... the lumberjack who kept sawing all day without a break produced much less than the lumberjack who stopped every so often to sharpen his saw!"

You can only do one thing at a time. Live in the moment and give 100% attention to the task at hand. Schedule intervals throughout the day to check emails and text messages. Don't try to bounce back and forth.

And most importantly... give yourself a break every now and then to relax and
sharpen your saw.
